My quilting journey all started back in 2015 when my parents gifted us a sewing machine for our wedding (thanks, Mom and Dad!). I had been dying to try my hand at quilting, and that sewing machine was the catalyst I needed.

Since I was a kid it was my dream to own my own business. A couple of years ago I took a step back and thought about what I wanted from my life. I was burnt out from my day job and felt like all the creative pieces of myself were being smothered.

I thought back to my dream of one day owning my own shop, and with the joy that quilting has brought to me, it wasn’t difficult to blend the two together in my head. Soon after that existential crisis, I said to hell with it and decided it was time to put more of my energy towards my own dream.

And so Kitty Queen Quilts was born, and since then I’ve never looked back!

Fast forward to now, and I'm still head over heels for this craft. Every hour I put into a quilt is worth it because I love it. And I want everyone who snuggles up in a Kitty Queen Quilt to feel that love too!

It’s taken time and patience in this craft, but I love it, so every hour spent on a quilt is worth it to me!!

I was an executive chef for 20+ years in various restaurants, and yes, absolutely my time as a chef has influenced my bath bomb art! The aromas of different herbs and spices working together in a recipe - it’s the same building blocks of a bath bomb. It has helped me to know how much benefit we get from natural raw materials. I’m a huge proponent of natural, no-additive products. This helps me ensure I’m always using and creating the highest quality of products.

Being a chef, the knowledge of effects different oils and herbs have for our bodies was also key to success for BL’s Bombs. It all comes back to sourcing the proper ingredients to find the best aromas/oils for the body and skin.
